1.  Will MC1 help prevent boiler noise?

Yes. MC1 contains two types of scale inhibitor preventing scale formation on the surfaces, eliminating boiler noise.

 

2.  Will MC1 prevent the formation of hydrogen gas?

Yes. MC1 produces an effective film which acts as a barrier between the metal surface and the heating water to prevent corrosion occurring and eliminate hydrogen gas formation.

 

3.  Are the ADEY chemicals EST recommended?

MC1 Protector is accredited as EST Recommended.

 

4.  How long can MC3 be left in the system?

MC3 is suitable for use within the system from one hour up to one week depending on the severity of fouling within the system.

 

5.  Does MC3 require neutralisation?

MC3 requires NO neutralisation and can be safely flushed out of the system with water.

 

6.  Is MC3 suitable for both new and existing systems?

MC3 is specifically formulated to remove all types of debris commonly found within both new and existing heating systems including magnetite and scale and is suitable for use with the MagnaCleanse flushing unit.

 

7.  Will it remove flux?

MC3 is specifically formulated to remove all types of debris commonly found within both new and existing heating systems including flux residue.

 

8.  Is it suitable for use with MagnaCleanse and other power flushing machines?

MC3 is specifically formulated with an effective working time from one hour making it ideal for use with the MagnaCleanse flushing system.

 

9.  Can it be flushed down the drain safely?

MC3 requires NO neutralisation and can be safely flushed out of the system with water.

 

10.  Is MC3 effective in removing limescale?

MC3 is specifically formulated to be effective in removing all types of debris commonly found within heating systems including scale.

 

11.  Will MC3 cause leaks on older systems?

MC3 is specifically formulated to be suitable for cleaning all types of metals commonly found in heating systems while NOT impacting detrimentally on the system. Prior to cleaning, the mechanical state of the systems should be assessed and any issues addressed accordingly.

 

12.  Should MC3 be used hot or cold?

MC3 can be used hot or cold. However, the reaction rate doubles with every 10°C increase in temperature making the cleaning process quicker and more effective when used hot. MC3 is ideal for use with the MagnaCleanse flushing system.

 

13.  Are MC3 and MC1 both suitable for use with aluminium?

Both MC3 and MC1 are formulated to be compatible with all metals commonly found in heating systems including aluminium and stainless steel.

 

14.  What size system will a 500ml bottle clean/protect?

A bottle of MC1 or MC3 will typically treat a heating system of up to ten radiators or 100 litres of system capacity. For larger systems, an additional bottle is recommended.

 

15.  What happens if I overdose the system?

A bottle of MC1 or MC3 will typically treat a heating system of up to ten radiators (approx 100 litres). For larger systems an additional bottle would be recommended.

 

16.  Are MC1 and MC3 non-toxic?

MC1 and MC3 have been formulated using biodegradable ingredients. At diluted levels (0.5%) both products have low toxicity – MSDS sheets are available on the water treatment chemicals section of the ADEY website.

 

17.  Do MC1 and MC3 contain acids?

18.  In the event of an emergency, is there a number I can call?

19.  Will MC1 and MC3 cause damage if spill it on a carpet?

MC1 and MC3 are non-staining if accidently spilt on any surface including carpets. If this occurs, the recommendation is to wash with warm water and carpet detergent.

 

20.  Can I use MC1 and MC3 with iron pipework?

MC1 and MC3 are specifically formulated to be suitable for use with all metals and plastics commonly found in heating systems.

 

21.  What is the best way of dosing MC1 and MC3 on a system?

MC1 and MC3 can be poured into the system via the MagnaClean filter or, alternatively, using a specific dosing pump. Dosing can also be undertaken via the F&E (header) tank or a partially drained radiator.

 

22.  Is a concentrate / aerosol version available?

MC1 and MC3 are both currently available in liquid formation in 500ml concentrate bottles.
